Boycott Arizona

Robert Paul Reyes
"If you´re in Arizona and look even remotely like some policeman´s idea of an illegal immigrant, a law signed today says you will have to produce papers showing you´re in the USA legally whenever and where-ever an officer requests this — and so will anyone else with you. Now, faith leaders are calling this new law, signed by Gov. Jan Brewer this afternoon, a sin against God and man and at least one says believers should not comply." Read more

Arizona´s draconian new immigration law requires alien registration documents at all times and requires police officers to question people if there´s reason to suspect they´re in the United States illegally.

This un-American and unconstitutional law opens the door wide open to racial profiling. If you´re Hispanic don´t leave home without your birth certificate or passport, if you are planning a trip to Arizona.

It seems like we are going back to a time when African Americans avoided driving through the Deep South, because they didn´t want to deal with the deeply ingrained racism. Only now its Latinos, and other dark-skinned persons who look Hispanic, who need to avoid a geographic area in the Land of Freedom.

I´m a Hispanic, and I will avoid Arizona like the plague. I don´t want to be stopped and harassed by the cops because I have a "La Raza" bumper sticker on my car.

I urge, not only Latinos, but every American who abhors this racist law, to boycott Arizona. This Hispanic isn´t going to spend his discretionary income in the racist state of Arizona.

President Obama, the heads of many faith-based groups, and other people of good will have condemned this harsh measure. It´s incumbent upon all of us who cherish freedom and despise intolerance to speak out.
